My Journey

The cycles of life that create
 The Spiral of Wisdom

My spiritual journey began in 1978 when I was first introduced to the Ennegram* in a 6-month course that met once a week.  It was a course that shifted my consciousness as one evening in a flash I realized that I was not who I had come to believe I was. In that moment I became aware that how I viewed the world and what I called *reality* was only the distorted lens through which I filtered my experience and that it was not who I was.  From that moment on I was fascinated with: “What makes us tick?” “What is it that drives our behavior?”  At that point my passion became to explore life from these questions that have continued to fascinate me.  Over the next 35 years I began to piece together what it is that keeps us from having the life we want, a life that is connected to our inner terrain, one that gives us the experience of peace and happiness.

On this journey I came to realize that all of life is a cycle. What is inherent in all of those cycles is the opportunity to grow, the gift that comes as we expand through time and with age, when we take our experience and ask ourselves, “What did I learn?”
I see the spiral as a metaphor of these cycles. The line that creates the spiral reflects our experience as the patterns and rhythms of life cycle round and round. It is something that we can trace, something that leaves a footprint. The space in between the line is the wisdom that is created when our experience becomes an exploration and inquiry of *What did I learn? Who am I? What is my purpose? *. As I said above, all life on our planet is a cycle.  I will come around to the same place again and again as I cycle though life. When I have learned from my experience, I become empowered with wisdom that I can then use when I come around to the same place in the cycle. I then can view life from a larger perspective, I can make different choices. I can take great joy in what I have learned and have a smile on my face as I settle into a peaceful place of knowing inside. It is my purpose to share this with others. The Spiral represents Wisdom, and I will ask you, “What have you learned, what is the gift in your experience from which you will glean your Wisdom?”

For years I supported myself as an artist, following my heart.  Along with listening to the artist within, I spent years after the initial awakening with the Enneagram exploring who am I through many venues of work that deepened my inner journey.  It was my passion and joy to follow the path of self-discovery.

In 1994, while still focused on my art, I was trained as a Transformational Breath Facilitator so I could begin working with clients in facilitating them on their inner journey. In 1999, I knew it was time to shift my focus to totally working with clients and leaving behind the path of the artist.  I have continued to explore and have blended the many different modalities in which I was trained and to which I was exposed over the past 3 plus decades.  The sessions with clients weaves this together in a unique way so that they can integrate parts of themselves that have been frozen in time.  Along with introducing clients to a simple yet profound meditation method, there are 4 main energy modalities that I use in facilitating clients to finding their way home where they connect with their authentic self and find a life that is rewarding and fulfilling.

As well as with working with the breath, I am an EFT/Matrix Reimprinting practitioner, Meditation teacher, Consulting Hypnotist, and Tibetan/Usui Reiki Master and Teacher.  My path also lead me to become a Holistic Health Practitioner and Life Coach having first studied as a student at the Mt. Nittany Institute, and then on the faculty until the school closed in 2010.  Being a Holistic Life Coach has become the umbrella and container for all of the work I do.

More recently I have written a book for caregivers and created a process they can use to give them some of the much needed relief from the overwhelm of the role and the stress it produces. (See the Peaceful Eye of the Hurricane tab). The process, called the Triangle of Light, has three main points that allows the caregiver (or anyone) to shift their nervous system into the relaxation mode.  The points are three empowering tools to use on their own:  taking a deep breath (breathwork), tap on your collarbone (EFT, Emotional Freedom Techniques) and be in your body (meditation).

I work with clients one-on-one.  You can email to make an appointment or for more information.  I also create and teach workshops on various topics that are the passions that have led me on my path.

*The Enneagram is a system of self-discovery that defines 9 different personality types. In this system, the personality is the distorted lens that the ego uses as a defense strategy.
